Jawan of Vellimala, directed by debutant director Anoop Kannan is a well made film. However, his inexperience in narrating the story is very evident.
Jawan of Vellimala is good with adequate humour. One of the highlights of Jawan of Vellimala is its presentation which is outstanding. The visual and background are simply suberb. Cameraman Satheesh Kurup has done a great job. Music by Bijibal is good.
While the first half is boring at places, the second half and especially the climax is superb. The story gives a clear message too. It says that electricity is valuable.


Story
Mammootty (Gopikrishnan) is an ex jawan of the Indian Army who comes down to Vellimala and works as a pump operator there. His father has shred his blood for building a dam in Vellimala.
Varghese (Sreenivasan) is the executive engineer at Vellimala dam and Anitha (Mamta Mohandas) is the camp officer there. Koshy Oommen (Asif Ali) is a young guy who has come there to settle long pending bills. Chacko (Baburaj) is the chief engineer.
The theme revolves around the ministers and other electricity officials bribing money for making the dam unuseable for producing electricity.
